Temperature Sensors & Sensor Pockets
Precision components for measuring flow and return temperatures in thermal energy systems.
Heat and cooling energy meters calculate thermal energy using the measured flow rate together with the temperature difference between the flow and return pipework. Accurate temperature measurement is therefore fundamental to the performance of the complete meter.
Temperature sensors are generally supplied as precision matched sensor pairs. Sensor pockets are available where the sensors are installed indirectly into the pipework rather than by direct immersion.
Important – Temperature Sensor Cables
Do not cut, shorten or extend temperature sensor cables unless specifically permitted by the meter manufacturer. Altering the sensor cable may affect measurement accuracy and can compromise the approved configuration of the thermal energy metering system.
Batteries & Power Supplies

Many thermal energy meters use long-life battery packs, while larger or more extensively networked meters may use mains or low-voltage power supplies. Replacement power options must be selected according to the exact meter manufacturer and model.
Batteries that appear physically similar can have different capacities, connectors and compatibility requirements, so we recommend confirming the exact meter model before ordering.

Many modular thermal energy meters can be fitted with interchangeable or additional communication modules, allowing the meter to be integrated into remote-reading systems, data-collection networks and building management systems.
Depending on the manufacturer and meter model, communication options can include M-Bus, Wireless M-Bus, pulse, Modbus, BACnet and other meter-specific protocols.
Module compatibility varies considerably between meter generations and models. If you are upgrading an existing meter, please provide the exact meter details so that compatibility can be confirmed before ordering.
