The Diehl Metering SHARKY 775 uses ultrasonic measurement technology with no moving mechanical measuring parts, providing accurate and reliable thermal energy measurement across a wide operating range.
One of the principal advantages of the SHARKY 775 is the breadth of the range. With sizes extending from compact 1/2" BSP threaded meters through to DN100 flanged models, the same meter family can be used across everything from smaller heating circuits to substantially larger commercial energy-metering applications.
A wide selection of power supplies and communication options allows the meter to be configured around the requirements of the installation rather than requiring the metering system to be designed around the meter.

1/2" BSP to DN100 Meter Range
The extensive SHARKY 775 range allows a common meter platform to be used across projects containing significantly different pipe sizes and flow requirements.
Compact threaded versions are available for smaller heating circuits, while larger flanged meters extend the range through to DN100 for higher-flow commercial and plant-room applications.
Correct heat-meter selection should be based on the actual system flow rate as well as the nominal pipe size. Stockshed Metering can assist with meter sizing where the expected operating flow is known.
Ultrasonic Measurement Technology
The SHARKY 775 measures flow electronically using ultrasonic signals rather than a conventional mechanical turbine or impeller.
With no moving mechanical measuring components to wear through normal operation, ultrasonic technology provides accurate measurement with excellent long-term stability and is particularly well suited to thermal energy-metering applications.
Flexible Power Supply Options
Unlike compact heat meters that may be limited to battery operation, the SHARKY 775 offers a choice of power supplies to suit different installation requirements.
- Battery – suitable where a permanent electrical supply is not available or required
- 24VAC – suitable for building-services and control-panel applications
- 230VAC – suitable where a mains-powered meter is preferred
