QUNDIS Q heat 5.5 US M-Bus / Impuls-IN Ultrasonic Heat Meter
Compact ultrasonic energy metering with integrated M-Bus, two pulse inputs and excellent low-flow measurement performance.
The QUNDIS Q heat 5.5 US M-Bus / Impuls-IN combines ultrasonic measurement technology with integrated communications and a compact, installation-friendly design.
With a dynamic measuring range of up to 1:250, the meter is capable of accurately recording very low flow rates while retaining the measuring capacity required for normal system operation. This makes it particularly suitable for modern heating systems where flow rates can vary considerably according to demand.
An integrated M-Bus interface and two pulse inputs simplify connection to a wider metering system. The two additional pulse inputs can be used to bring compatible external meters into the M-Bus network through the heat meter, helping reduce additional communication hardware, installation time and associated costs.

Precise Ultrasonic Measurement
The Q heat 5.5 US uses ultrasonic technology to measure the flow of the heat-transfer medium. This provides precise thermal energy measurement without relying on conventional moving mechanical measuring components.
Its wide 1:250 dynamic range is particularly valuable on systems with highly variable demand, allowing the meter to accurately record consumption even when the system is operating at relatively low flow rates.
Integrated M-Bus & Two Pulse Inputs
The integrated M-Bus interface allows the Q heat 5.5 US to connect directly to compatible wired M-Bus networks for centralised meter reading and energy monitoring.
Two additional pulse inputs provide further system flexibility, allowing compatible pulse-output meters to be incorporated into the metering network. This can simplify system design and reduce the amount of additional communication equipment required.
Designed for Restricted Installation Spaces
The compact overall height of the Q heat 5.5 US makes it particularly useful where installation space is limited.
A removable calculator unit provides additional installation flexibility by allowing the display and calculator to be positioned independently of the flow sensor where required.
The flexible design also allows installation in challenging mounting situations, including overhead mounting, making the meter particularly useful in compact plant areas, meter cupboards and other restricted locations.
Typical Applications
- Residential heat metering
- Apartment and flat energy sub-metering
- Communal heating systems
- Commercial heat metering
- Meter cupboards and restricted installation spaces
