The Itron Axonic range uses ultrasonic technology to measure liquid flow without a conventional mechanical impeller. These flow sensors are intended for integration into suitable thermal energy-metering installations, including commercial heating and cooling networks.
The three models offered here feature DN65, DN80 and DN100 flanged connections with a PN25 pressure designation. Select the meter according to the installation's design flow, pipework and compatibility requirements.

Meter sizing should be based on the required flow range and pressure-loss limits, not nominal pipe diameter alone. Confirm the full model specifications before ordering.
Static Ultrasonic Measurement Technology
Unlike conventional turbine-based flow meters, the Axonic uses ultrasonic measurement and has no mechanical impeller in the flow measurement path. This makes it suitable for applications where reliable flow measurement is needed as part of a properly specified thermal energy-metering system.
Integration into Heat and Cooling Metering Systems
The Axonic is a flow sensor, rather than necessarily a complete heat meter. A complete thermal energy-metering arrangement also requires an appropriate calculator and temperature sensors. Check the electrical interface, flow range and approval requirements of the complete system before selecting a sensor.
Typical Applications
- Commercial heating circuits
- District and communal heating systems
- Commercial cooling circuits
- Plant rooms and energy centres
- Large building-services installations
- Thermal energy monitoring systems
Why Choose the Itron Axonic?
The Axonic combines static ultrasonic flow measurement with flanged connections suited to larger commercial heating and cooling pipework. The DN65, DN80 and DN100 PN25 models provide options for a range of larger installations.
